On 17 th July 2022, Ghana reported its first outbreak of Marburg virus disease, after receiving a confirmation from the World Health Organization. 1,2 On 14 th February 2023, the WHO confirmed the death of nine people due to Marburg hemorrhagic fever in Equatorial Guinea, Africa.
