Supreme Court has again ordered that MCI is authorized to conduct inspection in a Medical College for physical verification of number of staff and doctors employed, no of labs, classrooms, operation theatres, library, blood bank, different diagnostic equipment and machines etc. of infrastructure and no of actual patients attending OPD or indoor admitted or operated in Medical College before recommending either fresh permission or increase of seats to Central Government which is bound to abide by its recommendation.
The Highest Court also rejected High Court order of enhancement of seats and ordered them not to pass orders to advise MCI or Government to increase seats without fresh inspection.
