The Directorate General of Health Services of Oman has recently responded to the rumors on the rampant H1N1 infections in Oman’s Sultan Qaboos Hospital that had spread fear and misinformation among the people in Dhofar. To clarify the issue, the Directorate General of Health Services in Dhofar clarified that there were only two deaths out of 78 confirmed H1N1 cases till September , this year and that the hospital has all preventive and treatment measures to combat an H1N1 outbreak. According to health officials, around 1779 people were affected with respiratory disease and were brought to the hospital from the beginning of 2019 until September this year.
