To emphasize the research orientation and skills among the PG medical students, the MCI Board of Governors (BOG) have ruled to carry out a compulsory course on research methodology. The course is also made mandatory for the faculty members with no prior research training. Following the academic year 2019-20, the PG medical students are required to have the knowledge of research methods to understand the evidence published in the biomedical literature. According to a top MCI BOG source, research skill acquirement is one of the important criteria for any medical student undergoing PG training .
