After the big announcement regarding the extension of NEET score validity from one year to three years, the Medical Council of India (MCI) has sent another curveball for students who want to pursue MBBS aboard. Recently, the MCI official gazette reported that the NEET exam is now compulsory for pursuing MBBS abroad. Earlier, the Indian students who were willing to build their carrier overseas had to qualify a screening test called the Foreign Medical Graduate Exam (FMGE).
According to Health ministry data, around 7000 students wish to practice medicine outside India while many students opt for China and Russia. Further, the official Gazette letter of MCI revealed that the new regulations will come into force from March 15, 2019. Source- The Indian Express
