Health minister of Punjab has declared that around 39 lakh children have been vaccinated since the launch of Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccination campaign in Chandigarh, earlier this month. The minister stated that, “ Despite all the initial hiccups, the MR vaccination campaign has been marching forward to achieve its target. The success of this campaign can be gauged from the fact that around 39 lakh children have been administered the MR vaccine, in 28 days of its launching ".
The Department of Health and Family Welfare has initiated the 'Measles Rubella' vaccination campaign' on 1st of May with an intention to vaccinate all the children in the age group of 9 months to less than 15 years, in all the districts of the state.
