Neither the Governments nor the MCI (of course it has no powers over unqualified doctors) has primary intention or guts in curtailing the quacks who are ruling the rural India causing havoc and playing with the health of public. They form a considerable vote bank for the politicians. Likewise the doctors running nursing homes also use them to procure patients to their nursing homes so that the fee can be split. There are many nursing homes in India run by quacks in which our qualified doctors go and operate and act as consultants.
How far our doctors are justified is anyone's imagination.
