Emerging data from the 2022–2023 U.S. clade II mpox outbreak shed light on maternal and infant outcomes, offering reassurance but also caution. Among 26 pregnant or recently pregnant women with confirmed mpox, most delivered healthy infants, yet four pregnancy losses and two neonatal infections were documented. Both neonates were treated successfully with tecovirimat , which appeared safe in mothers and infants, though larger studies are needed to confirm safety profiles. These findings emphasize the need for early recognition, prompt treatment, and close perinatal monitoring to reduce risks and optimize outcomes. To read more ; Click here .
