Mucormycosis is a highly angioinvasive infection. Treatment strategies primarily include antifungal agents and surgical resection. However, antifungal agents have poor site penetration leaving surgical resection to be a cornerstone in the management of mucormycosis. Therefore, clinicians should not delay surgery in patients with stable disease as it is imperative for a better survival rate and can improve patient outcomes.
