A 17 year old boy was riding a skateboard downhill at a high rate of speed when he lost control and hit a fire hydrant. He was discovered with the help of bystanders unresponsive at the scene. He was intubated and taken to the Medical Center, where he was found to have a traumatic brain injury of unknown severity, multiple sternal fractures, and a large, complex laceration of the anterior aspect of the left knee.
