A patient is admitted in our ICU with a history of phenol ingestion (common household cleaning agent). Gastric lavage was done immediately. About 200 ml was taken out through the tube and then further carried out with normal saline. Patient was unconscious with irregular respiration, so he was intubated and kept on ventilator.
On examination, regular heart rate is 108 and BP is stable,i.e. 112/82. Arterial blood gas (ABG) is normal, renal and hepatic profiles are normal.Pupils b/l pinpoint. What could be the further management ?
