A mysterious disease has recently claimed the lives of 10 children in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir where the children faced complaints of fever, vomiting, and low urine output . In the past fortnight, 10 children have died and six others are reported ill of a mysterious disease in 40 km radius of the Ramnagar block. Also, six other children of ages below four years are still under treatment at various hospitals.

Following this incidence, the centre has deployed a team of medical experts and microbiologists to join the probe and ascertain the cause of the deaths. The team would assist the Jammu and Kashmir Health Department to investigate the unknown etiology and to plan for public health measures. Upon completion of the investigation, a detailed report of the same will be submitted to the Directorate General of Health Services and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.…
