From July 2018, it is mandatory for all private hospitals to have at least pre-accreditation with NABH for a cashless facility to be provided by insurance companies. This has been mandated by IRDAI. Patients can go in for reimbursement and will have no problem getting it. I don't understand the logic. If it is to introduce uniformity in patient management how come it's not for all patients. Is it to force all of us to go in for it for fear of losing cases to accredited hospitals? We have standards fixed for hospitals by the state government. Why do we need one more accreditation?

If I have NABH, will I be exempt from acquiring state registration? No. Not at all. NABH guidelines are patient friendly. It's more about protecting your self than increasing care. Can we have some rationalization here?
