National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Facilities (NABH) has decided to assess healthcare facilities in the private sector on the lines of ‘Kayakalp’ scheme. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare launched ‘Kayakalp’ in the year 2015 for recognising efforts under ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’.
Efforts were regarding: Cleanliness and hygienic hospitals A positive experience by patients or visitors Behaviour in regards to hospital cleanliness Sanitizing their workplace Keeping a pleasant environment for patients Promoting ideas on hospital cleanliness Encouraging faster healing and enhanced satisfaction of patients With the above initiative in mind, the private hospitals started competing with each other to gain the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene in their respective facilities.
