Nose is an important gateway for a lower respiratory system. When the nose is closed and the air is breathed by mouth, it is not possible to breath continuously and will have to abort the attempt. When nasal block occurs bilaterally,  varieties of symptoms and signs are produced.I have come across a number of cases with varied presentation and even as an emergency. Thirty years ago, I was called to attend on a lady of twenty-five years with breathlessness. I have done examination of both CVS and RS and found no specific reason.

I have made the lady to sit and lifted the tip of the nose - which is my maneuver to find out the nasal block as a cause and the lady was better. So, I have prescribed nasal drops and the lady became better and no complaints after wards. A lady was admitted in ICU because of the vague chest pain 20 years ago in a corporate hospital.
