In a significant ruling, the Commission directed the hospital and the doctor to pay ₹10 lakh as compensation, observing that crucial pre-operative protocols were ignored, ultimately leading to avoidable complications. The case dates back to 2010, when the patient, who had long-standing nasal complaints such as obstruction and discharge, underwent endoscopic nasal polyp surgery at a Udaipur hospital.
