There are several serodiagnostic kits which are available with pathologists and Microbiologists for infectious as well as non infectious diseases. A Pathologist or Microbiologist must not use these kits, unless these kits are well evaluated in different studies and published in peer reviewed reputed journals.
Further, requesting physicians/ surgeons must check which kit/ method is being used for diagnosis, as this has got bearing on the outcome of a patient. So, I think there is a need of a series of CMEs related to diagnostics for common diseases which may educate diagnosticians as well as General Physicians.
