Recently one of my known patients’ husband underwent PTCA in a multispeciality hospital in Madurai in Sep 2019. Patient initially had EF of 38% as per echo report before undergoing the procedure. He is on drugs which has got effect on Blood pressure namely Lasilactone, Cardace, Cardivas apart from nikorandil, Ivabradin, bantiplatelets and PPI. He had one value of HbA1 C more than 8 with first emergency attended Doctor and not much work up done on blood sugar except for a random of around 150 mg/ dl. No drugs for DM prescribed.
After fifteen days,review was done. No check up of BP, no echo, no ECG, no blood sugar and a mere say hallo and asked to continue the drugs already prescribed. Patient has come for a consultation recently. On examination patient’s BP was 90/60 mm of Hg and blood sugar was 223 mg / dl GRBS.
