Dear colleagues My mother is having a calculus in right kidney as in the report... And the surgeon is opting for percutaneous nephrostomy! I have few questions regarding the case... Please clarify them 1. Is lithotripsy not advisable in this case? 2.
The videos I watched over YouTube regarding this operation showed a stent is placed outside after operation and it gets clogged time and again which needs active draining and in Some cases replacement with a new one is also needed. And it's really very painful. Moreover the probability of UTI is very high because hygiene is compromised! Please tell me whether the tube put is permanent one or not.. And if it's a yes then what is the other option available? Because the stent put outside keeps annoying and the person considers him/her as a patient throughout.. Please advice as we have less time for the procedure Thank you
