Notably, the use of e-cigarettes and hookah is linked to cigarette smoking initiation. E-cigarettes, hookah, and smokeless tobacco harm biological systems and carry cardiovascular risks. The American Heart Association calls for robust FDA regulation to reduce tobacco use to prevent health and economic consequences, emphasizing the need for long-term research on the impact of these products.
