A team of researchers from the University of Houston has discovered two new methods to prevent and treat respiratory viruses. As per the study published in Nature Communications, the team has developed NanoSTING, a nasal spray acting as a broad-spectrum immune activator, and NanoSTING-SN, a pan-coronavirus nasal vaccine. NanoSTING NanoSTING uses tiny fat droplets to deliver cGAMP, an immune-boosting ingredient, helping the body prevent respiratory virus infections. It protects against SARS-CoV-2, including Omicron variants and Oseltamivir-resistant influenza strains.
The single-dose nasal spray activates the immune system in the nasal compartment, offering broad-spectrum therapeutic potential. NanoSTING-SN NanoSTING-SN is a multi-antigen intranasal vaccine that protects against multiple coronaviruses and variants, including Omicron. It eliminates virus replication in the lungs andβ¦
