Substance abuse is the major problem worldwide. Though the treatment exists, often patients relapse with devastating impacts on themselves and those around them. In a very recent news, scientists have now developed a vaccine against the effects of fentanyl, a synthetic opioid, in combination with heroin. This article summarizes the scientific study of this vaccine.
The rise of synthetic opioids such as heroin laced with fentanyl or fentanyl alone have contributed to the dramatic rise in overdose deaths among addicts.
