Recently, two doctors from a Delhi hospital declared a newborn baby dead. The family later found the baby to be alive while being taken for cremation. This evoked serious action against the involved doctors. The case refers to the twins who were allegedly declared dead by the doctors.
The hospital has decided to terminate the services of the two doctors for being negligent. Simply, this may be a plain case of medical negligence. However, what if doctors considered all parameters carefully before declaring the baby dead but surprisingly the baby showed signs of life after some time? Would it be negligence in this case too?
