A patient was brought to ED, aged 52 years. Patient's relatives alleged h/o that patient poured kerosene on his body and lit the fire that was seen by a relative and stopped by pouring water. Patient earlier had the h/o suicidal attempt by taking sleeping pills but was revived in hospital. Gen examination: PR 106bpm, BP 130/70mmHg, RR 32breaths pm. Scald all over abdomen, both upper limbs and chest suffered burn injuries.
Treatment was done by ice water cleaning of the wound debris, IVF, ointment silver sulfadiazine applied to all areas of burn, inj.Tetglobulin and Pentazocine were given. Now the patient has been shifted to burn unit . What is the next step of management? Is there a need to take any medico-legal action?
