A police investigation in Vijayawada has put the spotlight on a private hospital and nine doctors following the death of a 51-year-old woman in October 2023. The case was registered after the III Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court directed Satyanarayanapuram Police to investigate allegations raised by the patient's family. The woman had been admitted to a private super-specialty hospital on BRTS Road between October 24 and 27, 2023, reportedly with hypotension, weakness, and other health concerns.

Her medical history reportedly included atrial fibrillation, COPD, and neurological problems.
