Whenever CAG is done, the patients having 99% in some vessels are noted. Most of the time, the patient and the relatives are given warning to do PTCA or CABG at the earliest to avoid disaster or mortality. The patient and relatives become panicky and they are doing what is being asked to do. I have come across in my series of review of CAG of two thousand patients, twenty cases. I have made them calm down and tell them it should be done as quickly as possible but not that much urgently as suggested.
I give them the reason that for the block to occur to the level of 99% it took some fifty to sixty years and so the block will not occur instantaneously because to avoid any thrombus formation antiplatelets are given.
