The National Medical Commission (NMC) has instructed all medical colleges to participate in a national survey aimed at assessing and improving the mental health of students in higher education, particularly to help prevent suicides. This initiative stems from a Supreme Court directive (March 24) establishing a National Task Force under the Ministry of Education to examine student mental health concerns and recommend preventive strategies. The Task Force launched a dedicated website on August 8, which serves as a central platform to collect perspectives from key stakeholders, including students, faculty, parents, mental health professionals, and institutional administrators.
