Accreditations have been helpful to have stats in place and it’s been encouraging for the past couple of years. As there is no mandatory reporting to central agency this data is still a closely in house restricted information. Google search will yield few scattered information and comparison becomes difficult as the methods differ.
Authentic data of HAI based on standardised surveillance method by well-informed medical staff has to be felt as mandatory in healthcare facility. A point surveillance done once in six months is a good option as many facilities have meagre resource allocated to this important task.
