Prices of 39 drug formulations (list provided below) including drugs for malaria, TB, cancer etc. are capped by the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA). The prices of these drug formulations have been cut by 20%.
The step is taken in continuation of Government’s initiative to make drugs more affordable to patients across the country. With this latest revision, the prices of around 821 formulations on the national list of essential medicines (NLEM) 2015, have been capped. As per the notification, the capping was carried out under Schedule-I Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013.
