NVX-CoV2373 is a protein recombinant vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency against SARS-CoV-2 B.1.1.7 (Alpha) and other previous variants. However, evidence for its effectiveness against other dominant variants is still lacking. A study investigated the effectiveness of NVX-CoV2373 in preventing SARS-CoV-2 infection and symptomatic COVID-19 among 20,903 adult Italians during the Omicron-dominant period (February-September 2022). The vaccine effectiveness was estimated (Table 1) during the first four months following vaccination.
