Obesity can adversely impact the rate of fertility and sub-fecundity. Several ovarian and extra-ovarian factors contribute to female obesity's destructive effects on reproduction. In the case of females, early onset of obesity increases the risk of irregular menstruation, chronic oligo-anovulation, infertility, miscarriages, and impaired outcome of assisted reproductive technologies and pregnancy. In men, obesity can hamper fertility because of disruption of the hypothalamus-pituitary-gonadal axis (HPG), increase in testicular temperature, impairment of sperm structure and quality, and peripheral vascular disease.

We invite you to join us in an exclusive webinar on the intricacies of obesity-associated infertility by Dr. Gandhali Deorukhkar and Dr. Raman Goel, on March 28 th , 2022, from 6:00 PM IST onwards. Stay tuned for more!
