The Oman Ministry of Health has recently launched the National Management Guidelines of Poisoning to highlight the impact of poison control centers on health services. These guidelines are established to raise awareness and improve the treatment outcome of poisoning cases. The guidelines cover various topics concerning the treatment of drugs and household poisoning, as well as poisoning cases of snakes and scorpion bites, some aquatic organisms and poisonous plants.

The guidelines were launched by the Directorate General of Diseases Surveillance and Control (DGDSC) under the patronage of the MoH Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs.
