Urine drug monitoring (UDM) is a helpful tool for physicians to monitor patients on opioid treatment. Evidence suggest that it not only ensures patient adherence to the medication regimen but also help monitor the opioid abuse or misuse . There are few discrepancies in views associated with the use of UDM due to the false positive and false negatives in the test results.
