As we are aware, there are very few examples of qualified doctors delving into public service and making it big. A decade ago a new urge was noticed amongst doctors to join Beaurocracy and make an impact. Few, having the interest in fine arts, got into drama and acting career and did well. Are we doctors self-satisfied?
Do we consider service to humanity through medicine as supreme, or do not want to take any risk to switch or anything else is not worth it? I fully respect and endorse the sentiments of doctors as they sacrifice so much to earn this achievement. Earning capacity, general respect and power to influence the course of things are some of the criteria which decide the popularity of any profession.
