A 16-year old boy was presented with multiple papules and dermal nodules on his eyelids, lips, and tongue (as indicated in the attached image). His mother is suffering from metastatic medullary thyroid cancer. Six years before the presentation, he and his brother were found to have markedly elevated serum calcitonin levels with no biochemical evidence of pheochromocytoma. Subsequently, they had undergone thyroidectomy. The pathological examination had revealed thyroid tumor measuring 0.5cm *0.5cm in this patient.
