A 45-year-old woman presented to a primary care clinic with a complaint of feeling ‘ like a zombie ’. The patient was diagnosed with  influenza A virus (IAV) three weeks ago. She slowly started experiencing this feeling within a few days of this respiratory tract infection.

History of presenting illness Persistent and productive cough that made her stay awake at nights Confusion and sedation NB: The patient added that she had previously experienced sedation of this extent a few years ago when she took trazodone 50 mg for insomnia.
