In my passionate field of diabetic foot management for over two decades, I  often came across a patient where a very major problem was solved expertly but with a gift of  apparently minor problem which ultimately paved way to many other mega problems & had permanent effect on QOL of the patient. Recently a diabetic hypertensive  gentleman who had a renal transplant few years back also underwent CABG in recent past. He was very happy after fighting bravely the dreaded diseases. But subsequently he developed wound sepsis of his saphenous veins donor site. Nothing much importance was paid to his operated leg wounds and told that these would heal by themselves.

Finally the same gentleman developed  ophthalmitis of his one eye with loss of vision with risk to other eye also. The ophthalmologist blamed the leg wounds as the possible source of infection. His eye enucleated. His zeal of winning…
