Peptic ulcer disease (PUD) is a gastrointestinal disease characterized by severe epigastric pain within 15-30 mins after a meal in patients with gastric ulcers. On the other hand, patients suffering from duodenal ulcers experience pain 2-3 hours after a meal.
An evidence-based approach is important in managing PUD.
