With the advancement of science & technology with sub 2 mm incision & sterilization in operation theater , use of disposable drapes and disposable instruments and intracameral use of Moxifloxacin, what should be the maximum blood sugar level at which the surgery can be undertaken? I personally feel that with the advent of topical anaesthesia, blood sugar level of 200 may be considered safe. The observations by several specialists may have long-term implications in cases of consumer court.
To best of my knowledge, till date maximum permitted blood sugar level is 150 mg.
