This video presents the techniques of phacoemulsification in a small pupil. Phacoemulsification is a modern cataract surgery which is difficult to perform; but with the advancement of different techniques and resources, the procedure can be done with ease. The techniques that have been highlighted with different patient cases: Injection of Healon 5 to perform viscomydriasis . Dilation of pupil is very well. Malyugant ring is an injectable which is placed in the iris border to enlarge the pupil uniformly; additional incisions not needed, this is the advantage.
IOL is inserted with all the standard procedures and at the end malyugant ring is removed. Iris refractors, diamond configuration is mostly preferred because of provision of wider visualization.
