In an earlier piece titled “ First strategic leap towards combating antibiotic resistance in India ”, it was seen that how antibiotic resistance is becoming a major issue in India and what strategies are being developed to fight this issue. A recent survey carried out by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has indicated towards the criticality of this issue as the findings from the survey are really crushing. The problem of antibiotic resistance is not very new to India as people generally demand for antibiotics even in minor infections, and this trend has given rise to increasing bacterial resistance.
