Johnson & Johnson has reached a proposed $5.5 billion settlement to resolve nearly all remaining lawsuits alleging that its talc-based products caused ovarian cancer, marking one of the largest legal resolutions involving consumer healthcare products in recent years. According to the company, the agreement would resolve approximately 69,000 federal cases consolidated in New Jersey, along with related state court claims, accounting for nearly 99.75% of the remaining talc litigation.
