A team of surgeons at a renowned Mumbai hospital successfully performed simultaneous heart and liver surgeries within 12 hours to save the life of a 63-year-old patient. The patient had been diagnosed with cirrhosis caused by non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and had undergone radiation therapy for liver cancer in 2021 and 2024. Although the tumor was partially controlled, his liver function deteriorated, making a liver transplant necessary.
