Rotator cuff tears are one of the causes of chronic shoulder pain and related disability. Generally, rotator cuff tears are treated with conventional therapy where reducing pain and improving function are the main treatment goals. As tendons are relatively avascular in nature, regeneration is limited. This article reports the observations from one study which assessed the effects of subacromial injection of platelet rich plasma versus corticosteroid injection therapy.
