The plight of the peripheral hospitals serving the Brihan Mumbai Mahanagar Palika (BMC) is terrible. Nine of its 16 hospitals has no pathologist. Most of the critical tests are performed by pathology technicians.

Most pathologists run private laboratories near the hospital and divert all the work to them while remaining unavailable at the hospital they are employed with. What do you think?
