Post graduates and all anaesiologists should train themselves to use only 27G spinal needle, atleast in obstetric cases. Spinal Anaesthesia with 27G spinal needle provides - extra safety in reducing the usual complications of Spinal anaesthesia like — High spinals can be prevented even with more volume of drug . Bcoz drug cannot be given fast . Post Dural puncture headache incidence is lower than 1 in 100000. Nerve damage, Spinal cord damage are almost not seen with this needle. Pain while giving Spinal is very minimal.
With Adequate Practice— introducer needle is not required to use this needle. I never used introducer needle. Back flow of spinal fluid is as faster as with other needles. ( not slow as usually thought) Many advantages with this needle, Try and go for it (only). Share your opinion.
