The FDA wants to fight vigorously for medication shortages as it leads to rationing of some drugs and disrupted patient care. The agency announced plans for a task force to find ways to improve the supply of crucial drugs.

Currently, FDA inspectors are working with a manufacturer to quickly resolve quality problems and to find alternate suppliers as well as expedite approval for them to sell that medicine.
