Case presentation A premature male infant was presented to a neonatologist for persistent anemia . His mother was multiparous, and in her early pregnancy with this child, anemia was identified after the routine prenatal screening. Immunological examination for determining the cause of fetal anemia was also unremarkable. Hence, multiple percutaneous umbilical blood sampling (PUBS) was carried out.

In one of the routine tests, the fetus was found to have significant cardiac deceleration. Due to the occurrence of deceleration, an emergent C-section procedure was performed.
