Mrs SS aged 65 years is a r/o Kanpur who has developed insomnia following her husband's death 10 days back. She lives alone in her home & visited by her married daughter DS once in a week as she is busy as CEO in a Company in Lucknow. SS  was taken to their family Physician for Insomnia who prescribed Nitrazepam 5 mg at bedtime. It was very effective & she continued it for 4 weeks. Daughter noticed that her mother was calm & sleeping well & also found that her mother was unsteady on her feet.

A week later daughter visited again & found  her mother lying on the bedroom floor in pain & unable to move. SS told her daughter that she lost her balance getting out of bed. She was taken to a Hospital & it was found that SS had broken her hip. Is it a wrong prescription ?
