Compared to the exponential number of people suffering from a stroke there are very few (~ 2000) neurologists in the country, with most of them practicing in metropolitan cities. Furthermore, what worsens the current healthcare is that only smaller number of neurologists are working in the government hospitals. Majority of doctors- working at the primary care centers- are general physicians.

Nonetheless, Government of India and medical authorities are consistently working to spread enough awareness about prevention and management of stroke- among healthcare professional and the general population. Would CMEs help general physicians to manage stroke better and fill-in for neurologists when required?
